HEB and So Much More Coming to Mueller This Summer!

I love the transformation that has taken place on our old airport site. It seems that the development of mixed-use urban living has proceeded at a thoughtful pace, successfully navigating through the economic pitfalls of the past few years. Here is a quick synopsis of the announcement from Catellus, the developer, as published in the February 6, 2013 Austin American Statesman: HEB is going to be joined in the Mueller Market District at 51st and Berkman by Mattress Firm, Twin Liquors, Great Clips hair salon, a nail salon and a dental clinic. New restaurants will include Boneheads, Green-Go, Xian Sushi, Verts (all locally owned!) and a Subway shop. Many should be up and running by June.
I believe all the Mueller activity has benefited the surrounding, charming older neighborhoods like Windsor Park, Colonial Hills and University Hills, which have all been re-discovered as people continue to fall in love with central Austin.
