Housing's 20 Strongest Performers in August

Which housing markets were sizzling this summer? Twenty stand out in terms of fast-selling properties and capturing online traffic. Realtor.com®’s research team analyzed listing views on its site for markets across the country, using the data as an indicator of buyer demand. They also tracked median days on the market to reflect the supply in the local areas. Using both data points, they identified the 20 hottest medium-size to large markets nationwide. These 20 housing markets capture 1.8 to 3 times the number of views per listing compared to the nationwide average. What’s more, the markets are seeing homes sell in 29 to 48 days, while the national average is 75 days. Here’s realtor.com® list of the 20 hottest housing markets in August: San Francisco, Calif.
